ABOUT JAKE FERRELL
I help organizations see what they’re missing. Usually, the problem isn’t a lack of effort. It’s that something important is hard to see when you’re standing in the middle of it.
A competing priority. A message that isn’t landing. A strategy that isn’t showing up in the work. A growth opportunity nobody has named. A good idea that never quite gets finished.
That’s where I tend to be most useful.

I’VE SPENT MY CAREER INSIDE ORGANIZATIONS
I’m not approaching this as someone who has only studied organizations from the outside. I’ve spent much of my career leading teams, building strategy, navigating change, solving communication problems, managing competing priorities, and trying to turn good ideas into actual results.
I know what it feels like to sit in the room when: everyone agrees something needs to change, but nobody is quite sure what the real problem is. Those are the conversations I love.
WHY BLINDSPOT
The idea behind BlindSpot is pretty simple: You cannot fix what you cannot see. And the closer you are to an organization, a team, or a problem, the harder certain things become to see clearly.
Sometimes you need someone outside the system to ask a different question. Not to walk in with all the answers. To help you find the right problem.
HOW I THINK
I’m naturally drawn to the space between: what an organization says it wants and what is actually happening. That gap can show up in strategy, people, communication, growth, fundraising, execution, or process. My job is to help identify it, make it understandable, and help determine what should happen next.
I call the process CLEAR: Context. Locate the Gap. Existing Assets. Advantage. Response.
The point is not to make strategy more complicated. It is to make the next move clearer.
WHO I WORK WITH
I work with:
Businesses.
Nonprofits.
Churches and ministries.
Leadership teams.
Organizations navigating growth, change, communication, fundraising, alignment, or execution challenges.
BlindSpot Consulting is based in the Des Moines area and works with organizations locally and nationally.
WHAT I BELIEVE ABOUT CONSULTING
I don’t think you need a consultant who creates dependence. I think you need someone who can help you see clearly enough to make better decisions.
Sometimes that means strategy. Sometimes it means asking the question nobody inside the organization has asked yet. Sometimes it means realizing the problem you thought you had isn’t actually the problem.
That’s the work.
